THIS Is Why You Don't Take Cats Out On Leash!
Got into a fight with Qtip, and the cat won~
Nearly every time when we meet someone while out with Qtip and they have a cat they say "My cat would never do this!" And after this incident, we can begin to see why.
So what happened is that Qtip got spooked and pulled out of her harness. It was in a neighborhood a half mile from the house, and she started to run towards a corner between a garage and a building--big enough for her, but waaaay too small for a person. I could tell she was all freaked out, and usually if you just wait it out she will calm down, but since she was headed for the hole I was worried she might get lost. So I grabbed her, and when I grabbed her she freaked out and attacked my arm. It made me drop her and when I picked her up again she went nuts, screaming and hissing and clawing and biting.
It was crazy. To finally get her, I had to take off my hoodie and throw it over her.
The thing is, she is fine around everything- dogs, loud noises, busy streets, but the only thing that gets her freaked out is other cats- or even the smell of other cats. Its nuts and we've tried things like asking friends to bring over things that smell like their cats, and even introduced her to some cats in the house (she was cautious but fine!). So if anyone has any tips on how to get a cat to work through this, we'd love to hear.
Until then, sad to say it, but Qtip is officially (mostly!) a house cat from here on out.

Qtip the Cat at Banksy
Qtip is also caught up in this Banksy craze, and so we took her to visit the Banksy pieces and do a photo shoot.
Banksy's English Bulldog is kind of like the Mona Lisa in that no matter where you stand, it always seems to be looking at you.

Its not the greatest shot, per say, but it captures the dog's personality. We would bet money that the bulldog used for the stencil is Banksy's pet, or a friends.
We especially like the shot with the reflection in the water.

Good Grief!

This spot on the Sunset Strip is very similar to the one in Westwood, in that it is in an alleyway, but at an angle that can be seen from the street.
We hear there are more, so keep an eye out, Los Angeles!
Qtip's a Keeper
Qtip is so awesome, and we wanted to try some outfits on her to see how she would do.
She didn't like the spring dress at first because it was too long and she kept stepping on the hem. But once a minor modification was made to shorten the outfit, Qtip did fine.

A Cat Cult sticker got capped on Sunset, and it appears to be by one of the 'Grateful Dead' Bears.
Not sure what's happening hear. It looks like it was gone over on purpose. But why would a dead head cap a cool cat?

Qtip the Cat-On-A-Leash on Google Earth
It is always fun to see the random stuff Google Earth will capture from their cameras.
You can see the all directional camera mounted on the roof of the car across the street. We hope their shot is more clear than ours, and hope the cameras caught Qtip, the crazy cat on a leash!

Hooked Up - Atlas
We met up with graffiti heavyweight Atlas CBS at Starbucks last weekend.
This guy is a straight legend in the game. We have been enjoying his images for years in magazines and online. Few cats have developed their own recognizable style or 'font' and Atlas has a handful to his name that are instantly recognizable.
Atlas made the mainstream news in 2010 when he got busted for the beautiful cats that he put all over the city. He talked about how crazy it was when the police raided his house with full riot gear and a helicopter. But the good news is he says he's doing better than ever since getting busted. In our opinion, the major crime in this whole story is not seeing Atlas' art on the streets anymore.
It was really awesome meeting up with Atlas in person. Thanks for the stickers and sketch!

Fresh Street Art at De La Barracuda
The main wall got buffed, but strangely enough, it seems the buffers selected the pieces they liked, and those they did not paint over.
Also, even though the buff is just a day old, new art has already sprung up . . .
The street art that survived the buff is the ASVP piece on the pole, Mar up top around back, the Macbeth graffiti cat by Dan Smith, and a Hugh Lee Man piece in back.
New stuff sprouted up already from Alec, AJL, and Bran One TRB. It looks like Alec's Monopoly Man face has been filled in and AJL's girl has had some white modifications.
