Bape Gets Buffed (kind of)

The now vacant retail space for Bape gets buffed on Melrose . . . kind of. Click the jump for more

Bape got buffed, and it seems they took off all of the stickers on the front, and painted over the artwork on the sides of the building, but they left the wheat pastes on the front of the building, and the character tag on the front window.

Surviving the buff are Bankrupt Slut, Dint Wooer, TLS, TSF, Bran One TRB, Stray(?) from the Cyrcle crew and character tag from R.W.

My Group Does Not Belong To a Group

A lot of fresh street art has popped up at the old Bape Store on Melrose

This spot was always packed with street art, and things have only picked up since the store closing.

Love this little corner. It always has its own flavor.

It just got some new art with a hand drawn postal sticker featuring a heart with an arrow through it. It says 1015 and is numbered 6 out of 41.

Free Humanity had a booth at Dcon sponsored by DKE toys.

He brought a full arsenal of Star Wars themed work, including a new Boba Fett chicken--as seen on The Family Guy.

TLS released a DesignerCon exclusive 'Lava' version of Pico & Wilshire, limited to 98 pieces worldwide. It might be too late to grab that, but you can still get your hands on the regular edition here.

Yesterday we rolled out to Pasadena to check out DesignerCon.

DesignerCon is a smaller version of Comicon in San Diego.

There was all kinds of cool stuff, ranging from children's toys to the Suicide Girls. We especially enjoyed all the custom toys.

And it was awesome to see the throngs of fans supporting Dcon and low brow art. We have been for a few years in a row now, and every year just gets bigger.
