Hooked Up - Subtle

Subtle hooked us up with an unusual gift--he hooked us up with the stencil for his first logo.

And, sure, people can choose to believe it or not, and many might think that he got the idea from Banksy, but Subtle is ahead of the curve and actually hooked this up last week, a few days before we went to MOCA and even saw the stencils in Banksy's exhibit. What else can we say? Great minds think alike~

Dig what Subtle's been bringing to the streets lately. His aim of attack is clearly about quality, not quantity, and we look forward to more of his well thought out pieces.

MOCA's Buffed Art In The Streets

Here is a brilliant installation piece placed at MOCA.

It is one of the the best that we have seen which continues the commentary concerning the buffing of Blu, and whether street art in a museum is truly art in the streets.

This new piece from Subtle features the 'Art In The Streets' logo, but the 'Streets' looks as if it is being buff. And on the left side of the picture is Blu's wall, in the process of being buffed.

Actually, the pic of the guy buffing in this piece is a real pic of the guy buffing Blu's mural.

Really brilliant commentary, and expertly placed right at the entrance to MOCA's exhibit.

Daily Barracuda Update - The Scene Is Flooded!

Another day. More art, and another partial buff.

This scene is flooded!

There is some commentary that has been added the beautiful mess that is the layered wall at De La Barracuda. New street artist Subtle placed a sign that says 'Scene Flooded' up top on the balcony amidst all the half-buffed madness. We dig how this piece interacts with the space around it.

Also featuring new art from Serf with multi-colored cassette tapes and Common Cents posters saying 'How Could You Be So Heartless'.

Joining Cibass, D Young V, Sturad and a wall of half-buffed stuff. (The Vans Advertisement got fully buffed out this morning)
