Army of One Arrested for Street Art

Army of One was arrested for putting up street art in New York.

Lohud is reporting that jc2 from Army of One got arrested and charged with putting up graffiti, and criminal possession of a weapon (for the knife he carries as a NYFD Firefighter).

People often think that it is young kids and vandals who do street art but the truth is that most of the artists are contributing members of society and put art on the streets to make the world a better place, or in jc2's case, to spread a message. The Lohud is a great article detailing how everyone says that Jef is a stand up person and spends his off time volunteering for a children's charity. "He is one of my best guys," says the Yonkers Fire Commissioner.

jc2 has been bold with his street campaign to end war and bring awareness to the plight of children. Its tragic to hear that he got nabbed for spreading the message, but hopefully the arrest will bring more light to his cause.

Its sad to see jc2 get arrested as he is a great friend of the blog and a beautiful person. According to G gives a great write up of the situation and jc2 as a hero on his website. G says, 'You can arrest Army of One, but you cannot stop the revolution.'

This building is the remains of The Old Spaghetti Factory, but we like to think it is some classic, impressive building, more like The Colosseum (not The Coliseum).

We are not sure exactly where this is located, but if you drive Sunset through Hollywood it can't be missed.

This hot spot on the corner of Melrose and . . .





. . . La Brea just got whitewashed, and some new art is beginning to take shape. New pastes from Mar and Septerhed, amidst the remnants from Keep It Lit, Army of One, Abscnt. And the graffiti looks like its just getting started on a big production.

Hooked Up - Army of One

Army of One hooked up MelroseandFairfax with an incredible pack of art featuring Grenade Boy on a custom cut wood backing.

The full size Grenade Boy came a wicked little brother - around a foot tall and comes with a red resin grenade.

We really love these pieces. Thanks so much, jc2~

Coyote

We are in love with this Coyote street art found on the art wall.

This shot looks incredible with a ripped poster over Army of One's Grenade Boy make it look like he and the Coyote are merged into one.

Coyotes are one of the only animals that are estimated to be in greater numbers now than when the Americas were settled. This despite massive eradication efforts. We even saw a coyote on the streets of West Hollywood a few months back.

We always root for the wild, and hope the coyotes can keep thriving.

TSF Hollywood Sticker Combo

There are a lot of organic sticker combos in Los Angeles. It is not often that we see a combo that is mobbed up in one batch, essentially creating art in one hit.

The Status Faction slammed up this sticker combo with dozens of artists right in the heart of Hollywood. Its in an area that gets buffed regularly, but TSF planned this spot out. They went on the other side of the fence. Its private property so the buff squad won't mess with it.

jc2 gets up Grenade Boy on this billboard pole on Melrose.

The writing says "Only the dead have seen the end to war". Powerfully placed next to a 'We Never Die' wheat paste from Cyrcle.

Don't Go Down -Liquid, Asane, Army of One

Liquid, Asane throw up some throw-ups on this abandoned building.
