. . . Comes Around

Wow. It seems like half of Melrose was chompin at the bit waiting for Jonny 'No' Style to finish his mural, and the show of force is nothing less than impressive . . .

What goes around, definitely came around.

It all started when Jonny Style buffed and ripped down some dope street art at this spot the very next day after it went up. Well, Melrose talked back, and Jonny's mural was 'enhanced' back to the streets the very next day, in return.

We knew all along that it was only a matter of time before Jonny's mural got replaced-but we are amazed at how quickly it happened, and with the show of force from Melrose's street artists. We count no less than 8 separate artists who laid the smack down on Jonny Style the very first night. From paint to pastes to graffiti, the street art solidarity on Melrose amongst all different types of street art mediums is impressive.

Getting in on this action are KilleD, Mute, Koffinz, Zombiel, splatter paint, two separate tags, and X, who politely says "No Thank You".

All this action might confuse some people, but it is all about who has earned a place on the streets. True street artists risk violence, imprisonment, fines and abuse to put up their art. If you just roll up to a spot in the middle of the day, ask the owner for permission, bring out a ladder and start painting, then you are just an artist painting outside-not a 'street artist'. And if you roll up on piddly little scooter to start painting, you are just a fuckin tool~

And we realize that there might be some readers who might prefer a mural like Jonny's to street art, and if that's the case, you are definitely following the wrong blog~

We stand firmly with the street artists, and feel that Melrose is much better with Jonny absent, than any shitty Jonny absinthe~
