Banksy isn't the only hater magnet.
JR got defaced the other day when someone wrote on it with marker. The good news is that unless you are standing right next to it, it is basically invisible (can't even be seen from the second shot, 5 feet away).
And don't blame graffiti writers. This is not a tagger. This is just some fool with a marker.
